Yes I was blown away by Food, Inc. and the things that I learned were going on in the food industry. I've known for quite some time that the regulating agencies were in bed with the industries they regulate, but I never realized how blatant and how pervasive it is.

I found the movie, The Informant, you referred to with Matt Damon. I just moved it to the top of my queue with Netflix. Thanks for the information and thanks for being such a supporter of Soulful Equine.

I have seen Food Inc. and certainly indorse your praise of it. If memory serves, a related though quite different film is The Informer. This featured Matt Damon in the true story of a man who informed on Archer Danial's Midland. ADM is a singularly powerful player in the food industry. Their "ingredients" are in almost all processed foods. Though the film is focused on the complex character played by Damon it does showcase the world wide corruption of ADM.

A final point. Virtually every Federal regulatory agency has been "captured" by those being regulated. There is a constant exchange of positions between the private sector and the agencies. To my knowledge this includes the FDA, SEC, BLM, and as we see currently the Minerals section of the Interior Department.
